Perfected by artists like Salvador Dali, Frida Khalo, and René Magritte, surrealism took popularity in the early to mid-20th century. Now, in 2024, we present seven brand-new takes on surrealism. Each painting expresses new ideas and techniques by local New York City artists.

THE TWO SUNS:
As the World Runs its Course

Solo Exhibition of the Works of Renelio Marin

SHOW EXTENDED

October 26, 2023 - January 15, 2024

In the paintings and drawings Marin builds and disects surrealistic lands and characters that are bipolar in nature. Marin meditates on the inextricable links between the conscious man and the jungle, masculine and feminine, between the lightness and darkness of being. Marin's concrete awareness of this bipolarity inhabits the physical and psychological spaces of the paintings.
