The Jungle represents animalistic impulses and survival chaos, and The Garden, signifies order, culture, and abundance. Grounded in Renelio’s heritage of growing up in Cuba, and studying firstly at the same prestigious academy there as Wilfredo Lam, Renelio investigates the history of modern art, Wilfredo’s masterpiece The Jungle, and the connection to European and African cubism, layered with today’s societal and cultural profundities.
Marins’ work revels in the visionary power of wild, intimidating landscapes and characters that cannot escape their own brilliance and shadow.
