Angela China

New York artist, Angela China began using street art as a way to ignite conversations with the public, mainly on the topics of women’s issues and sexual politics.  China now exhibits in galleries and fairs across the U.S. including Art Wynwood, Aqua Miami & Scope New York. Notable public clients include Viacom, Live Nation & Spotify. In 2017, China unexpectedly diverted from exhibiting in order to earn a Masters of Fine Arts at The New York Academy of Art…

“The work I make is an extension of my predecessors because as a woman with the freedom to create, I have power. These women paved the way for me to have this power and I believe this power comes with responsibility. As female artists, we have the responsibility to create and to portray our truths. We need to be uncensored and unapologetic. We need to expose our psyches, fears and desires. We need to have the courage to release our work into the world because despite the leaps and bounds that women have made over the last half-century, we are still living in a male-dominated culture. There is more work to do before the playing field is level.”
