THE NEW SURREAL
GROUP EXHIBITION
This fall, we invite you into the AMRM Gallery to experience the work of seven different artists as they offer new takes on an art historical genre, Surrealism. Perfected by artists like Salvador Dali, Frida Khalo, and René Magritte, surrealism took popularity in the early to mid-20th century. Now, in 2024, we present seven brand-new takes on surrealism. Each painting expresses new ideas and techniques by local New York City artists.
Fourteen paintings will be on display that combine color and texture to provide a small representation of contemporary surrealism in New York City. Each painting works together to build a space of exploration for each visitor. All seven artists shown bring a fresh perspective of art commenting on the human experience.
Each of these paintings invites a unique look into abstract painting of artists like Angela China, Renelio Marin, and Bernardo Navarro. We welcome you to take an inside look at the current art world in New York City. Each artist uses abstraction to describe a new world of surrealism. Movement, texture, and color are just some of the stand-out characteristics in each piece included in this show. We hope guests can get a feel for the new generation of surrealist artists in New York City by visiting our show.
THE NEW SURREAL will be on view at AMRM Gallery starting from October 26, 2024, to November 19, 2024. The gallery is located at 40 E 75th Street, New York, NY 10021, and is open Tuesday–Sunday 11 am–6 pm. Admission to the exhibition is free.
